Welbro have begun their first project under the Considerate Constructors Scheme for Brixton Plc at one of their customers premises in Hemel Hempstead. Welbro are renewing the roof coverings on this building but operations inside it can not be interupted in any way and water entering the building would have disasterous concequences, so it is necessary to erect a large temporary over-roof formed from scaffolding.

This page will keep you informed of the progress of the job via regular progress reports produced by the Project Manager James Sprack. These are listed below.

A huge scaffolding frame has been erected over the roof that will be covered with a strong fabric to protect the working area from the English summer weather as the work progresses. The scaffolding over roof has been erected by specialist scaffolding contractor Globe Scaffold.

Globe Scaffolding are based in Wimbledon and were selected for this project because of thier extensive experience in complex large scale scaffolding projects.

The over roof is a major element of this project and needs to be in place before the old roof coverings can be removed.

The site manager is James Sprack and he prepares progress reports for this project on a regular basis. This project as also bee assessed under the Considerate Constructors Scheme so we have decided to publish his reports and assessments so that you can follow the progress of the job and have an insight to what running a large scale project is like.

The over roof, now complete provides protection from rain and poor weather whilst the re-roofing works are carried out below.

Unfortunately, during the current heatwave it has been getting too hot to work safely under the cover of the over-roof in the middle and late afternoons.
